How it works

Depop does not charge a selling fee to sellers based in Australia. Every sale through the Buy button pays payment processing of 2.6% plus A$0.30, worked out on the whole amount the buyer pays: item price, shipping and any tax. If the buyer found the item through a Boosted Listing, Depop also takes a boosting fee of 8% of the item price, plus the shipping unless you shipped with a Depop label (12% applies only to sellers in the UK and US). With a Depop label the buyer's shipping pays for the label; with your own label you receive the shipping and pay for it yourself. If a sale is refunded, Depop reverses the fees.

Worked examples

  1. A $50 jacket with $10 shipping, your own label, not boosted: processing is 2.6% × $60 = $1.56, plus $0.30. Fees $1.86; you receive $58.14 and pay the shipping yourself.
  2. The same jacket sold through a Boosted Listing with a Depop label: boost 8% × $50 = $4.00, processing still $1.86 because the buyer paid $60. Fees $5.86; you receive $44.14 and the label is already paid.
  3. A $20 top with no shipping: 2.6% × $20 = $0.52, plus $0.30, so $0.82 in fees and you keep $19.18.
